Tuesdays and Thursday daytime, Thursday evenings. By appointment only.
You’re not alone anymore, Go Fetch It can help! We offer professional, qualified behavioural counselling with over 10 years’ experience. As much as we focus on your dogs problematic behaviour we also take into account the relationship you have with your dog, and how our own behaviour and environment also affects the way in which our dogs behave. Using the most up to date dog training techniques and theory we deliver our beliefs and knowledge in a clear and understandable way. There is no one size fits all approach, and each client and dog is treated as an individual where their strengths and limitations are all taken into account for the training programme. Whilst knowing the science which underpins animal behaviour is essential, we aim to focus on the practical application of modern dog training techniques and methods A two-hour consultation will include:
- Behavioural questionnaire to gather history of problem, contact with your vet/rescue organisation where necessary.
- Assessment of your dog in your home or at our training venue.
- Discussion on why your dog is presenting with the problematic behaviour.
- Training and management programme with practical training exercises demonstrated.
- Follow up report on your dog and detailed training guidance notes.
- Follow up appointment in 4-6 weeks if required (charged as an extra)
During a behavioural consultation a profile of your dogs behaviour will be built up and your trainer will advise you on the problem. Initial consultations last approximately two hours to assess and discuss the behavioural problem and to design a practical training programme specific to the needs of you and your dog. We have a secure training arena and consultation room here at our training venue, or we come to your own home. We endeavour to give you all the advice and information you need in your session however behavioural problems are complex by nature and in some cases follow up sessions may be necessary. Following a consultation please expect a lot of hard work and commitment on your part in order to improve your dog’s behaviour. We will be here to support you every step of the way.
